FAQ on Ginny Hate rant
FAQ on Ginny Hate rant - or How I stopped worrying and started to love teh BOMB.

1.- Is it true you are high on sugar and crack?

No, only on sugar and caffeine.

2.- Let us cut the crap, did you write that "essay" (if you can call it that) to try to look smarter than you are?

::goes beet red:: Next question.

3.- Do you realize that To Kill a Mockingbird is a book?

:innocent voice: Is it? Gosh, I guess I am wrong in all my assumptions on the Ginny Hate, being that the case.

I mean your point has everything to do with Harry Potter fandom.

/sarcasm>.

4.- Is it true that you watched To Kill a Mockingbird because you had an English homework and were too lazy to read the book?

No kiddies, you should never cheat on your homework. Shame on you!

5.- Stop weaseling out of the main issue here. What did you find so funny about the term Ginny lovers and had to say this: "I’ve seen many comments where Ginny lovers (I saw How to kill a Mockingbird yesterday so saying Ginny-lovers is a very funny pun)have tried to explain away the horrible “crime” of disliking the aforementioned character"

I am afraid you're reading here something that never was said. What I found funny was that we people in HP fandom were starting to take such extreme postures as if we were talking of something of material importance--which we are not. The whole point of my rant is that we shouldn't attack other people because of a fictional character.

6.- You compared the Ginny-lovers to *******-lovers from TKaB! Those are the heroes who fought for the rights of black people! The heroes of the movie!! Then you attacked in a veiled way your own essay!!!111!1

Yes, I did. I am very surprised that you got that one.

I made that pun and attacked my own essay because I don't take myself too seriously, as you seem to do. I put myself in the bad guys place for the lenght of a sentence enclosed in a parethesis. So what?

Call the police and teh ambulance!!

7.- So you're racist!!

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat??????? How on earth did you get that stupid conclusion? No wonder you cannot understand a children's book!

See, you just proved my rant true. You attack people by taking whatever they say out of context and demonize them. Even if my comment on watching TKaB may have been OFF TOPIC or even unclear, I hardly can see how that makes me anything but a silly movie-lover. (sits and waits for new attacks.)

Now this is serious: if there is something I hate it is racism.

8.- Why do you like lyrics so much? Last time you were wanked it was because of that. Shouldn't you have learnt your lesson by now?

::childish giggling:: I won't learn my lesson. I love music and movies with all my heart.

Here my Musical Ramblings journal: http://www.journalfen.net/users/darynthe/

9.- You published this FAQ on 6/6/06? I find that very suspicious to say the least!

Yes, I know. I know! You got my big secret and now I will have to kill you.

Now that makes sense wank on 666. Irony is when they proof you're right though they tried to show how "stupid" you are. *lol*

*offers something sharp and dangerous* But don't tell anyone where you got it from.

What you don't seem to be getting is that comparing anything with the "n-word" is taken VERY seriously by a LOT of people. I don't know if you are from the US or not, but that word is an excessively sensitive issue here, and claiming that it's part of a "funny pun" (even if you don't actually say it) is going to STOP people from reading/understanding whatever else you have to say after that, no matter how logical or intelligent it might be.

You're right, I never used the word, neither did I support it.

Sorry to break this news to you but racism has been made fun of before, and using the same pun I did.

And without anybody tearing away their clothes like your friends do, in an effort to make others seem stupid.

"You Bugger-Lover!" ---> Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game saga.
(referring to defenders of the interspatial intelligent aliens that try to conquest the world, and that later in the story (in "Speaker for the dead") are redeemed.)

Nobody found the book offensive that I am aware of.

So excuse me but I still fail to see your case. Tata for now.

No, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt and hoping (for the sake of my faith in humanity) that because you have not lived most or all of your life here that you simply didn't realize how deeply offensive that word is to millions of people and how sensitive people are about it.

But thank you for your charming replies to me.

P.S. - I fail to see how Orson Scott Card relates to any of this. You specifically brought up To Kill a Mockingbird. It's been a while since I've either seen that movie or read the novel, but I think I'm correct in stating that the "lover" in that particular story is not "bugger-lover."

Thing is you people are trying to think the worse of anybody who is not bunching with you in your little wanking playground. Someone mentions TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD then she must be an insensitive racist!!!eleven111!!!!

I've already explained anything there was to explain in my FAQ if you still willfully fail to listen, then I am also starting to lose my faith in human race.

I am not overreacting. (And I am not a member of the "wanking playground." Thankfully for you, Fandom Wank rules prevent their members from following the link to your post and flaming you.)

I didn't say that you were racist, and my criticism is not with you simply bringing up the movie/book. It's what you implied with bringing it up. You specifically referenced a very offensive term. Even if you didn't say it, it's CLEAR what term you are referring to. That is what most people are taking issue with - NOT your arguments about Ginny. If you truly can't see that, there's nothing more I can say.

Look, it's very clear that you people would take every little crap you/they could against Dary because you/they are angry at her post. The fact you/they took that issue about that movie/book is just incidental. If Dary had not used it you/they would find something else to wank about.

My father is black, my mother is white (though I consider myself to be black because the law certainly does). I understood Darynthe's pun and I don't believe she's racist or meant anything insulting to black people by it. I wasn't offended, and I definitely would have a right to be offended by something like that, but I'm not because I know she wasn't making racist comments here, nor is this something that should be used as "proof" to define Darynthe as a racist.

But I really enjoy getting them mad. :)

Because you know, everybody would prefer to be slaves than to be called that word. Take me for example: I much rather lost my freedom and be a slave.

Slavery = Ok

Name calling = you lose at life!!!1!!!

Guess the political correctness of the US citizens goes deep to their bones.

No, no, you got it wrong, Dary.
Name calling is OK too if you are not a Harmonian.
Especially if you are insulting Harmonians at F_W or HP_Cornfield
However, if you are a Harmonian, you should be killed and/or sterilized even if you are polite.

I know, esicardi. I've seen similar icons. That's another instance of their hypocricy. They make such offensive icons and it's supposed to be okay, yet someone references TKAM in a light-hearted comical manner and suddenly there's an uproar. Those icons they make are horrible, just HORRIBLE, yet they use them and won't take them down. It's so odd how a group of people can wank another group for the very same things they're guilty of, yet it's "okay" when they do it. Sigh (shakes head in disgust).

I consider anyone who made/uses those icons to be supportive (or in the least indifferent to) racism. If they were as noble as they like to claim, if they're so decent and upstanding that they can pick at Dary for this little reference to TKAM, then they should know better than to make and continue to use such offensive icons.

*Rolls eyes*
Because obviously we obligued them to make those idiotic icons, spread them and use them.
They trivialize the slavement history. However is OK for them to use them because of course, they are not Harmonians, so they are above criticism.

It's taken that very seriously that even people call each other in songs "n-word", or aren't those songs played in USA but only in Europe? Now I'm curious about that because it seems to me you really, really want to be offened and have a grudge with Harmonians in general so everything you could take wrong you actually take with some kind of pleasure wrong.

You know, I just went to the cornfield and read a bunch more of their comments. My conclusion is rather an astounding one:

If we go by the finesse of their language, expression, epithets used, the coarseness of sentiment and the raving foaming hate, not to mention the total lack of control of their emotions...then we have to come to the conclusion that a 90% of the posters are writing from the libraries of a jail.

So my advise my beloved friend Estrella is to ignore as much as possible that site. But I want to thank you, Di, Caina and others for their support, which has been a wonderful thing to see and very much worth it. :)

Oh, with a sense of humor like that, you have to be careful, darynthe. Hehee.

Well, to be totally serious now... I think it's pretty clear all of this has nothing to do with any offensive comments from anybody or misusing English language... it's about jumping on the chance to attack again. Anything Harry/Hermione shippers say will be turned against them. As simple as that. I've been quietly watching this going on and on.
The days when I personally was offended by anything anyone said on the internet have been over long ago (too many debates, too thick skin). But one thing does get to me, which is the same as in real life - the sickening hypocrisy behind a sweet smiling face. That's the worst kind. And it still hasn't disappeared from here. This comes from people who are opposing Harmonians. NOT OBHWF shippers pers se, but people against "our group".
It's a little sad that it exists.
