Elections in Ecuador. Funny.
Today is the election of President here. The two guys runing, Correa and Noboa are populists. Correa was labeled as Comunist and that did turn me off in the first round.
Noboa is one of the riches men of the planet and also one of the dumbest. Oh why God give such extremes to just one person? Oh why? This man is offering heaven and stars to the people. Like making hundreds of thousands of houses, and have them inscribing themselves now.

Guess what, they found the inscriptions of thousand thousand people for these houses in a dumpster. This was hilarous.
Plust "Avarito" Alvarito (pun in Spanish) had his father being declared insane so as to keep his companies. He has got his sister declared insane to get her part of the inheritance. Somehow in the end he stole the whole inheritance from his other 5 or 6 siblings. And he now comes and says he is the redeemer sent by God himself. He goes and imposes his hands on the sick to cure them!
This is so funny that someone should write a book mocking him.
Hold on, maybe I will...there is an idea.
Correa on the other hand is an intellectual. Got two masters or Phd's not sure. He studied in Ecuador, Belgium and the USA and always been quite ethic. I still hated him until I head one declaration of him. I saw then that I was wildly misunderstanding him.
Here it is: When asked about he would do if abortion was declared legal in the country he said that he would accept the popular decision because this was a democracy but since abortion was against his most ingrained morality he would be forced to resign to his post of president of Ecuador.
This shocked me. This man has a great integrity. He didn't need to say he would resign if abortion was passed. He could have said simply he would be accepting of the decision. But nope, he did say something quite bonding if this happens. I don't see any other president anywhere doing or feeling or making such a statement. I think I will be proud to give my vote to someone like this.
On the other hand, this doesn't mean that if he tries to go communist and take away our rights or liberty (which I dont' think will happen, seemeingly the communist label was just bad publicity from the contrary side), I would have to go out to the streets and do the fighting with my hand hands like anyone else would here. People in this city don't take BS from any president. And that has been proved over and over, since like 5 presidents have been taken down in the last ten years, by the force of the people, and without any bloodspill.
I've never been in those mini revolutions of course. But if freedoms were in risk, I would have to.
